I then replaced the bolt without the extractor, pressed the rod so the case head was against the bolt face and marked the distance. I used a brass rod to mark the distance from the inside rear of the casing to the end of the muzzle. ![]() I pulled the bullet from a 7.62 round and inserted it with finger pressure into the chamber. (5) Here's fishy part about Ishapore 2A1 headspace. 640 but greater (.650+) is preferred so that I can stone the head to gauge properly. Using shims on the rear of the gauge, I'm guessing I need a No. My bolt closes on the 1.6455 gauge using a bolt head that measures. (4) After some research, the best I can say is that headspace of the Ishapore 2A1 is a little "fishy." See Peter Laidlers comments of this thread. (3) I'm using Forester 7.62 NATO gauges ( ). 1 bolt heads were fitted by trial and error or stoned to length to get the proper headspace. The bolt head of the Ishapore 2A1 is the same as the No. Many, many thanks for the reply and help you might be able to offer. ![]()
